In Japan, we have been keeping dogs as pets or as guard dogs simply because we like dogs and want to keep them with us. However, there are deeper and more important factors in relationship between human and dogs. We found that dogs give us the emotional bond, affection and friendship as a fellow creature, and the mental healing (nurturing human being’s mind).
Environment of dogs in Japan is changing. Dogs can live with us in flat or residential complexes if they are well-trained. It wasn’t allowed before. More and more parks and cafes are accepting dogs. Japanese society and personal attitudes towards dogs are getting closer to the one in Europe and American countries.
OPDES was founded in order to improve the better relationship between humans and dogs for people who have dogs, or those who want to have dogs, and others. We also hope to improve social status of dogs in Japan towards European and American standard such as the one those dogs do not cause any trouble or danger. This makes more dogs to be loved and accepted by people and society.
We are dealing with organising dog training and agility competitions, as well as developing dogs and trainers for International competition as the foremost authority dog-human relationship.
